It shows 2,000 signatures to support a Public Enquiry into organised Child Grooming, Child Prostitution and Paedophilia in the UK.
2,000 was the goal we were given for the EU Petition to Abolish Adoptions without Parental Consent. So I counted this petition in, when I looked at all the relevant petitions out there to assess how many people know about child ‘care’, secret family courts and forced adoptions.
I know the problem of gathering signatures, as I’ve published 12 online petitions since May 2008. I especially loved compiling the comments and letting them tell their stories. However, it is amazing how much ‘awareness’ it takes before people put their name to a petition.
Of course, it’s awful if you just being a number. But for once it counts! It clearly makes a difference whether 200 or 2,000 people sign up to be counted. And thus I counted everybody who’s ever signed ANY petition relating to what Christopher Booker describes in The Telegraph as the worst scandal I have seen in my 50-year career in Britain today.
The result was over 10,000 signatures. But what is much more significant in my view is the far higher number of page views: over 69,000!
Not all platforms offer these statistics. But the best number of page views I have seen translated into signatures was 22% – amazingly for the petition to Stop Forced Adoptions in the UK! Normally, you see less than 10% signing of those who are viewing a page.
Marketeers talk about translating click rates into sales. We don’t want your money. We just want your signature! Maybe you can imagine that it did make me smile when @MonadTime made this picture for me to acknowledge my efforts. He notices my blog posts on Twitter.
The foreign journalist who put me on to the track of the EU Petition congratulated me on the ‘numbers’. But when will they be enough??? 100,000 get a debate in Parliament!
