Old Bailey
So far, I called them ‘victims turned starfighters’ and they will all have acted as McKenzie Friend in that learning process.
Now Belinda McKenzie (!) came up with the idea of an Association of McKenzie Friends to give ‘public interest advocacy’ more clout and presence in the legal process.
Maurice Kirk experiences the loopholes in the law in prison as a litigant in person. The Musas have been criminalised by Haringey Council after they kidnapaped their six children and have very similar experiences in prison:
- not being ‘produced’ by the prison staff for court hearings
- not being able to meet court deadlines when McKenzie Friends are not allowed legal visits to take documents in and out of prison
- not being able to type and photocopy documents.

Praised be the internet and Facebook as the most popular social medium!
Remember: in August 2004 (nearly 8 years ago!), the Telegraph published Children are taken away, but the system can’t admit it’s wrong and in August 2005: How social services can seize our children, criticising clearly:
- documentary evidence of distored reports
- refusal to share vital documents
- failure to follow procedures.
The article even mentions also a criminal court:
- 11 complaints against 13 police officers ranging from
- unlawful arrest
- imprisonment and harassments
- refusal to accept the parent’s alibi.

Whether it’s cancer, bankruptcy or child snatching: we’re only concerned once we are touched ourselves. And when it hits us, we’re looking around: who’s there to help / console / advise us???
When your child is being taken away and you have to flee to Ireland like a political refugee – as happened to Vicky Haigh – to make sure that “Unborn Haigh” is not snatched as well, I feel helpless and powerless.
But I also feel enraged. And it’s this ‘wrath of god’ that fired me into starting another online petition – so that we can show we are NOT isolated cases. We are part of a horrible pattern of institutionalised abuse, violence and cruelty.

Once again, John Hemming MP stands up for a victim!
His legal rights have been removed from him and now he has been made homeless without any notification that people were about to smash his door down.
This case differs from many of the Court of Protection cases only in that you are allowed to report it. Others are covered by secrecy. It shows how badly run the system can be.
Here’s the report by The Independent. It combines what we are all very aware of in terms of white collar crimes:
- people “judged” to be unable to manage their own affairs
- the Official Solicitor NOT acting in the interest of the ‘client’
- medical reports not being disclosed
- wills NOT being executed in the interest of the beneficiaries
- state appointed solicitors acting fraudulently
- bailiffs “just doing their job”
- official bodies “do not comment on individual cases”…
