A sigh of relief seemed to have gone across the UK today – thanks to this announcement by the Australian PM:

Prime Minister Julia Gillard has issued an apology to people affected by Australia’s forced adoption policy between the 1950s and 1970s.

Tens of thousands of babies of unmarried, mostly teenage mothers, were thought to have been taken by the state and given to childless married couples.

Many women said they were coerced into signing away their children.

… practices that were unethical, dishonest and in many cases illegal.

The report was based on submissions by hundreds of women.

FIRST SLOVAKIA, then France and Belgium on TV: outrage at the Kingdom’s “lost children” as ‘scandalous injustice’

It’s up to grandmothers to right the wrong-doings of younger people who are ‘just doing their job’. In the case of the two Slovak boys who were supposed to be adopted, she organised demos outside the UK Embassy in Bratislava which TV and press took up in Slovakia.

In France, CanalPlus showed a special documentary: England: the Kingdom of the Lost Children illustrating the plight of a number of families.

Now, Belgium TV has aired the story thanks to Nigel Cooper who is a Belgian resident since he came to work there as a NATO Security Specialist. However, he has since been banned from the UK as he explains in this video. His story was on Belgian news in June 2012, starting at 21:15 of this video. The program points out:

  • the secrecy surrounding family courts including the ban of media reporting
  • the claim that the father consented to what he calls abduction
  • John Hemming MP NOT having confidence in the judgements of Social Services: “they make a lot of mistakes.”

Reproducing footage of the French film, these Belgian videos are in support of his daughter – which is of course representative of many, many other ‘cases’: aired on 12th March 2013

Broadcast on 15th March 2013 but not visible in the UKMore

On Becoming more Effective in the New Year

I do enjoy symbols and signs to give meaning to life. When one of my first emails on New Year’s Day was “My boys are in Slovakia” I was therefore hopeful for a New Year of ‘successes’ in our struggles to reverse injustices – from fraudulent bankruptcies and home repossessions to having children put into ‘care’, getting them adopted and being imprisoned on top!

I found the above picture on Chris Roubis’ Facebook page, after his site was taken down due to mentioning Unlawful Killing – the cover-ups concerning Lady Di’s death.

With a view to becoming more effective on behalf of victims, survivors, starfighters, campaigners, activists and McKenzie Friends as Public Interest Advocates, we are working on:

May 2013 become the year of breakthrough we’ve long been waiting for – with many thanks for all your visits, comments and suggestions!

THE PLANE LANDED: the 2 Slovak boys are back after 920 days in ‘captivity’

13 01 01 Slovak KidsThe plane landed: this is the translated title in a Slovak paper of the story that is typical for institutionalised child snatching aka State Stealing Children or State Kidnapping.

However, in an unprecedented way, this story ended with the return of the children – mainly due to the involvement of the Slovak government. Not just the Embassy here in London. That was not enough:

That could NOT quite be ignored by the Court of Appeal and the return of the boys was promised before 4th January.

Today, on the first day of the New Year, the plane landed in Bratislava!

On 4th January, Christopher Booker told the story in the second part of his weekly column in The Telegraph: Free at last - a Slovak Family Happily Reunited.

How can anybody claim that foster ‘care’ is better than the love of these parents?

If you are not aware of the Slovak parents whose two boys were taken, start by reading this page and then search for ‘slovak’ on Victims Unite!

As the final straw for your spectrum of emotions between outrage and sadness, please read this story of 10 Nov and this article of 13 Nov 2012 in a Slovak paper – with the aid of Google’s translation - and watch the subtitled film on that page.

The mother says “not without my children” or “BEZ DETÍ NEODÍDEM”. Googling for those words will give you lots of links.

  • Irvana has been using the game of the film Life is Beautiful to ‘explain’ to her sons why they cannot come home yet: they have to collect points beforehand
  • she explained that “these people, they are so clumsy, they spilled  the points,” so they have to collect again
  • one boy wants to come home by train, the other one by plane…

At the demo outside the UK Embassy in Bratislava, people were chanting ‘life is beautiful’.

Five Mothers on Hunger Strike in HMP Holloway

I only know one of them: American Melissa Laird who has not had seen her then 4-year old boy since December 2011, when she was separated from him in Spain. She was on her 16th day of not taking either food or drink when we visited her yesterday.

But nobody takes any notice. Except those four inmates who also find it unbearable to be separated from their children ‘without sound reason’ or ‘just cause’, as the Slovak Government refers to ‘care’ and forced adoptions in the UK. One of the mothers is Russian.

Another exception is a journalist and author who booked a visit. But later he got a call to cancel it!… He has been advised that a Judicial Review would be his ‘remedy’, i.e. next legal step.

It is not ‘nice’ to think that UK Police and Social Services used a hospital visit for Melissa’s little boy in Spain as a pretext of snatching him. Pretending that she could only see him again, if she were to sign an extradition paper, they took hold of him and flew her to HMP Holloway.

A number of family court hearings took place where at least twice she was not ‘produced’. But who cares, as long as Social Services get what they want, the child, and the judiciary appears to put a legal blanket over their wrong-doings?

She is being held on ‘immigration issues’ and a judge recently refused bail because “the welfare of the child” is of paramount importance. So far, nobody had the decency of establishing a DNA test to prove that the boy is hers or get witnesses to attest what a good mother she is. And what lies is the boy being told???

The Wall Street Journal Europe: Slovak Government Challenges U.K. Foster-Care Ruling

While Wall Street and its Journal reached eastwards, into ‘Emerging Europe’, I guess it came as a surprise to learn about this Slovakian family that was broken and destroyed by Surrey Social Services.

Let’s hope that, soon, everybody knows that the Adoption system is UK’s shameful secret.

But then, the UK is unique in five points, as put together by Ian Josephs who, with a law degree from Oxford, has watched Forced Adoption since the 60s.

Here’s a mainstream media overview that should have made a difference already, but hasn’t… And here is a wonderful selection of photos to remind us of LIFE between birth and death…

Now we get to read it in the Dail Mail: Slovakian grandmother wins right to challenge High Court adoption ruling keeping grandsons in the UK

  • She wants the boys, who were born in England to Slovakian parents, to leave the UK
  • Social workers intervened after one suffered an injury thought to have been caused by his father.

Meanwhile, the boys are staying with their foster / adoptive parents…

But if the adoption is reversed, this may become an important precedence!

Protest outside UK Embassy for Martin and Samuel BoorHere it is:  paper planes flying for Martin and Samuel, the two boys taken by UK Social Services with 3 police cars, from the Lutheran Pastor of the family 2 years ago – on the 5 o’clock news of TV Slovakia, starting at 3:56 until 7:58.

A protest before the UK Embassy – with some 400 people and the following English placards:

  • STOP legal kidnappers
  • BRITAIN thief of children
  • Freedom for (Vladimir) Boor’s Family
  • UK our model???
  • Kids to Mothers
  • Justice for Decent Mom

Echoing the remarkable Italian film about a father and son, longing for his mother in a concentration camp, protesters chant Life is Beautiful.

And a Slovakian paper published that the Court case will be re-opened. The bottom of the page refers to a Slovak family whose 5 children were taken… Praised be the web that offers translation!

Here it is on Facebook: the mother with her sons…
